Sebastian Hasani Paramo is the son of Mexican immigrants. His work has appeared in Pleiades, Front Porch Journal, Prelude, Huizache, upstreet, North American Review, & other places. He is the Editor-in-Chief of The Boiler. He holds an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College and lives in Denton, Texas, where he is a teaching fellow in the doctoral program at the University of North Texas where he is the Production Editor for American Literary Review.
He has taught creative & college writing to high school, ESL, first graders, and adults. With Robert Torres, he co-founded the Pegasus Reading Series in Dallas, Texas in 2014. The Dallas Observer named Pegasus Reading Series “Best Poetry Night” in 2015. Pegasus Reading Series is co-hosted with Courtney Marie of Spiderweb Salon. Together, they co-founded Deep Ellum Lit Hop in 2016, a DFW event that brings together art collectives to Deep Ellum for a literary pub crawl.
