Biographical info:

Sebastián Hasani Páramo is a CantoMundo Fellow. His work has recently appeared or is forthcoming in New South, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, 32 Poems, New England Review, Crazyhorse, among others. He is the founding editor of THE BOILER and Poetry Editor for Deep Vellum. He has received scholarships and awards from Sewanee Writers’ Conference, Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and the Vermont Studio Center. He holds a PhD in English and Creative Writing at the University of North Texas and will be the 2021 Jesse H. Jones Fellow through the Dobie Paisano Fellowship Program, sponsored by the University of Texas at Austin and the Texas Institute of Letters.

With Robert Torres, he co-founded the Pegasus Reading Series in Dallas, Texas in 2014. The Dallas Observer named Pegasus Reading Series “Best Poetry Night” in 2015. With Courtney Marie, of Spider Web Salon, he co-founded Deep Ellum Lit Hop in 2016, a DFW event that brought together art collectives to Deep Ellum for a literary pub crawl.

In 2019, he started The Burning Plain Reading Series in Denton, Texas. Due to the pandemic, Pegasus and The Burning Plain are on indefinite hiatus. In 2020, Sebastián began the Bandwidth Reading Series.
