Sebastian Hasani Paramo is the son of Mexican immigrants. His poetry & nonfiction has recently appeared or is forthcoming in Iron Horse Literary Review, Southwest Review, Salt Hill, Pleiades, Huizache, & North American Review. He is the Editor-in-Chief of THE BOILER. He has received scholarships and awards from Sewanee Writers’ Conference, Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and the Vermont Studio Center. He holds an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College and lives in Denton, Texas as a PhD candidate at the University of North Texas, where he is the Managing Editor for American Literary Review.
He has taught high school, ESL, first graders, and adults. With Robert Torres, he co-founded the Pegasus Reading Series in Dallas, Texas in 2014. The Dallas Observer named Pegasus Reading Series “Best Poetry Night” in 2015. With Courtney Marie, of Spider Web Salon, he co-founded Deep Ellum Lit Hop in 2016, a DFW event that brings together art collectives to Deep Ellum for a literary pub crawl.
In his free time, he likes to cook with his partner—poet extraordinaire Caitlin Pryor—and snuggle with their cat, Brie.
